dan's death still affects me.

together with the EP of Reporter's Notebook, I went to Funeraria Nacional last Saturday afternoon to visit his wake. dan was still being "prepared" when we arrived, so we decided to help some of the news people in preparing the food and drinks.

the whole experience was surreal. imagine preparing the snacks that will be served on your friend's funeral. we all can't believe he's gone.

a mass was held for his memory. the whole funeral room was packed with media colleagues, friends, and relatives who were mourning for his sudden death.

My friend and I decided to busy ourselves in preparing the food for the guests. I guess it was our way of paying respects to dan's memory. It was already around 1AM when we got the chance to view dan's body.

He looked so different. It was as if we were viewing another person's cold body. It was so surreal.

We stayed there until 6AM of Sunday. On my way home, I remembered the faces of Dan's closest friends in GMA. They were in pain. Mark was smiling, but it was clear that he was mourning.

I felt their pain. I felt their sadness. They lost a good friend. We all lost dan.

Hard as it is, we all have to move on.

We'll be working on a tribute for him this evening. Darn. Work tonight will be so difficult to finish.
